I was looking for a toaster that toasted both sides of the sandwich bread I usually use. It seems that toasters nowadays seem to toast only one one side. This toaster does better than that, with one side toasting only slightly more than the other, but satisfactorily enough for me.
Description of Rowenta TO-812 2-Slice Toaster, Pearl
Ready to take on everything from white bread to bagels to hamburger buns, this two-slice toaster has extra-large slots (1-3/8 inches wide, 5 inches long, and 5-1/2 inches deep) so it can fit whatever you need toasted. Similar in appearance to the bottom of an iron (a product Rowenta is known well for), the toaster's top is actually a unique warming tray. You can place pastries, croissants, or rolls on the top of the toaster and the tray quickly and evenly warms them without drying them out. Special settings include a bagel function, which toasts only the cut side of the bagel while warming it throughout, and a defrost function, which adjusts the toasting time to accommodate frozen breads or waffles. A seven-position control lets you choose the degree of browning you prefer on your toasted goods. In addition, a Stop button allows you to finish toasting and eject your bread at any time. The toaster's lift is extra high, so it's easy to remove smaller pieces of bread without burning your fingers. The plastic sides of this toaster stay cool to the touch while the appliance is operating and wipe down for easy cleaning. An inconspicuous crumb tray below the browning control is removable for easy cleaning of the toaster's interior. The nonstick, stain-resistant warming tray is also removable for cleaning and is dishwasher safe. This toaster is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina VaamondeToasters
